VOLBEAT werden am 8. April via Spinefarm Records/Universal ihr neues und fünftes Album mit dem Titel „Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies“ veröffentlichen. Gemeinsam mit Produzent Rob Caggiano (ex-ANTHRAX) und Stammproduzent Jacob Hansen legen VOLBEAT gerade letzte Hand an die Aufnahmen. Zum Sound des Albums äußert sich die Band wie folgt: „The heavy stuff on the album is perhaps more old school heavy riffs than earlier, and the rock songs rock out with tons of melodies and take us into unchartered territory. All that without losing the Volbeat sound that is the cornerstone of our band.„

Außerdem wird Rob Caggiano die Band fortan als zweiter Gitarrist fest unterstützen. Dazu Poulsen:
„The collaboration with Rob in the studio was so inspiring and in good spirit that we the decided to keep him. Basically we went into the studio as a three piece and came out as a whole band!”

„Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies“ wird sich thematisch an den sogenannten „Wilden Westen“ anlehnen und einmal mehr mit dem Klischee des zwielichtigen gesellschaftlichen Außenseiters sowie dem der anrüchigen Dame spielen. Als Inspiration galten laut Poulsen diverse klassische Spaghettiwestern.
