Im Newsletter der luxemburgischen Grotesque Metaller Vindsval wurde bekanntgegeben, dass man das kommende Werk „The Great Maddening“ ganz für umsonst an den Mann/die Frau bringen will. Sänger Tyrann erklärte das folgendermaßen: „Some of you who carefully read our interviews surely noticed that we, as a band, are completely pissed off by the recent music (and especially metal) scene as far as magazines, distros and labels are concerned. It’s no news for you if I tell you that only bands whose labels pay large amounts of money (in forms of printed full-colour advertisements or well-paid sampler-contributions) get the best reviews. So, how many albums does your metal-collection bear which you bought on the basis of great reviews that you barely listen to because they didn’t really match your imagination? Or maybe there’s only one good song on the entire album (usually the one they put on magazine-compilations). We are convinced that there are many people who would like to hear good music without having to pay hidden album-prices such as commercials, distro-parts, mailorder-portions etc. And that’s the point!As soon as „The Great Maddening“ will be finished, you will be able to download the first half of the album on our homepage http://www.vindsval.de or via http://www.skaldicart.de in a very high quality for free. In this way you can take your time and build your opinion about our music.Now it’s up to you to judge: -Should you dislike our new songs: no problem, just delete them from your harddisk, finito.-Should you like our new songs and think that the idea of distributing our music in a revolutionary way is worth being supported, you can (you are not forced to do so!) spend as much money as you think the whole thing is worth to you. This might be 50 cent or 2 Euros or whatever you think is appropriate. So you decide over the price of the album! Should we see that you are interested in our music and seem to like it, we will put the other half of the album online after a month or two. If you show no interest in getting high-definition music for the price you decide, we will stop this action and continue selling our music at prices as usual. We will as well put online cover-artwork, inlay-card and lyrics so that you can „build“ your own Vindsval-album. If everything turns out best, we will as well put out a very special limited edition of „The Great Maddening“ as a „thank you“ for our loyal supporters.“
