Hellfest
Mit Gitarre, Charme und Hut!

Gerade hat er sein neues Album veröffentlicht, da steht auch schon fest, dass er auf dem diesjährigen Hellfest auftreten wird: SLASH, passionierter Gitarrist, Hutträger, Ex-GUNS N’ROSES! Er wird sich am 19. Juni die Bühne mit ALICE COOPER, TWISTED SISTER und vielen weiteren teilen. Das vollständige Line-Up der drei Tage findet ihr unter folgendem (Link) !

Zusammen mit SLASH werden Myles Kennedy (ALTER BRIDGE), Bobby Schenck (SLASH’S SNAKEPIT / AEROSMITH), Todd Kerns (AGE OF ELECTRIC / SIN CITY SINNERS) and Brent Fritz (THEORY OF A DEAD MAN / ALICE COOPER) abrocken. Gespielt werden sollen Songs seines letzten Soloalbums, als auch Klassiker von GUNS N’ROSES und VELVET REVOLVER.

Des Weiteren hatte wohl das Hellfest in letzter Zeit mit ordentlich Gegenwind seitens der heimischen Medien zu kämpfen. Hier das Statement in unkommentierter, ungekürzter und unübersetzer Form:

„You’ve probably heard the media firestorm that raged around the festival over the last few weeks following the unsubstantiated attacks of some politicians frowning about our event, accusing HELLFEST of promoting “death culture,” anti-Christian hatred and as a threat to disturb public order…
Now we find ourselves at the center of the storm, something which is not so displeasing in the end, as HELLFEST, our culture, our passion and our way of life have never attracted so much attention from major media.
We would have preferred to be featured at the top of the cultural pages, but as you know, metal has always been an underground music, a force against the trends, something that by its very nature needs to be subversive, and we will continue to defend it as such. Metal is not supposed to be universally popular amongst the masses and that is just fine with us.
Yes, the shortcuts and the caricatured ways used by media to talk about the subject can be irritating sometimes, but hey, they talk about us. For good or for ill, that is not the problem, our passion is at the heart of a laughable controversy and our detractors have more to lose than we do. Let us remain unfazed by these attacks and let these self-righteous people waste their time to provide good promotion for HELLFEST!
Those attacks worried some of you, as the April Fool’s of our partner VS WEBZINE, announced the cancellation of the festival, which created panic amongst ticket holders and even artists and their management!
No worries, no cancellation is to be expected, ALL the institutions (State, Region, Department, City), partners of the festival or not, have reaffirmed their support, and we would like to thank them for their confidence.
Others conservative politic parties should be aware that HELLFEST is going on very well and would like to graciously thank them for their great (unintentional) efforts in helping to promote the event.
More than 30,000 tickets have been already sold, twice what we had sold last year at the same time, so if you really want to attend the „Hell fest“, buy your precious ticket as soon as possible!“
